Rich Novak has served 8 years as a North Township Board member. He retired from the East Chicago Police Department in 1996 after 21 years of service and also worked for the Lake County Prosecutor's Office as a Chief Investigator for 9 years. Rich was elected to the Highland Town Council in 1995, serving the Highland community for 4 years. He is also a proud member of American Legion Post 369 and currently serves as the Director of the East Chicago Marina.
Serving his first term on the North Township Board, Ralph Flores, Jr. was born and raised in East Chicago. He now lives in Munster with his wife, Tina and their daughters, Avarie and Olivia. Ralph was a former Chief Probation Officer in Hammond and now owns and operates a successful sports marketing company in Hammond. He also takes great pride in managing a children's foundation for NBA basketball players which has generated $1.9 million in poor relief and aid for children all over the world.
