EMERGENCY VICTIM RELIEF

Frank J. Mrvan, North Township Trustee, has implemented a new Emergency Disaster Assistance plan to help low income families when disaster strikes. When Fire Departments respond to an emergency call and find families who have lost everything, those families will be directed to the North Township Emergency Relief Team.

The Emergency Team will assist with meals and shelter by directing families to local businesses that participate in the program. The Township is not attempting to replace state or federal programs or Charities, such as Red Cross. Instead, our local government will provide emergency assistance during the first 48 hours of a disaster to ensure that even those who have no resources will have a meal and a warm place to sleep. By setting up the program with local businesses before disasters strike, the Township is able to coordinate resources and direct donations to the residents who need it the most.

JOB SEARCH/EMPLOYMENT/WORKFARE

  1. If the applicant is in good health, the Trustee shall require that those able to work will seek employment.
  2. Applicant will be required to perform community service work that is equal to the assistance received by the household.
  3. Applicant will be asked to participate in educational, job training or self-help programs.

North Township residents may meet with the Employment Coordinator to create a resume and perform job searches if seeking employment.
